Inspection Procedure

  1. Check Rear Wiper Operation 
    1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    2. Operate the rear wiper and turn the rear wiper switch OFF.
    3. Check the rear wiper stops at the retract position when the rear wiper switch is turned OFF.

    1. OK: Go to Next Step 
    2. NG: Replace Rear Wiper Motor Assy 
  2. Inspect Back Door Power Window Regulator Switch Assy 
    1. Using the hand-held tester, read the DTC when the back power window switch is operated.
      1. When DTC B1287 is output, proceed to A.
      2. When no DTC is output, proceed to B.
      3. When DTC B1241 is output, proceed to C.
    1. A: Inspect Multiplex Communication System (See  MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - DIAGNOSTICS  ) 
    2. B: Inspect Back Door Power Window Regulator Switch Assy (See  DTC B1241 BODY ECU SWITCH CIRCUIT DIAGNOSIS  ) 
    3. OK: Go to Next Step 
  3. Read Value Of Hand-Held Tester 
    1. Check the condition of the retract switch using the data list.

      Standard: 

    Data list for back door ECU: 

    BACK DOOR ECU DATA LIST

    Measurement Item Label Parameter
    Wiper Retract Switch Wiper Rtrct Sw On
    1. Ok: Go To Next Step 
    2. NG: Go To Step   6 
  4. Check Harness And Connector (Back Door ECU >--< Power Window Motor)

    1. Disconnect The B9 Back Door ECU Connector.
    2. Disconnect The B11 Motor Connector.
    3. Check The Continuity Between The Wire Harness Side Connectors.

      Standard:

    1. OK: Go to Next Step 
    2. NG: Repair Or Replace Harness And Connector 
  5. Inspect Power Window Regulator Motor Assy LH (Back Door) 
    1. Remove the motor.
    2. Apply battery voltage between the motor terminals and check that the motor rotates smoothly.

      Standard:

    1. OK: Check And Replace Multiplex Network Door ECU Back 
    2. NG: Replace Power Window Regulator Motor Assy LH (Back Door) 
  6. Check Harness And Connector (Back Door ECU >--< Rear Wiper Motor)

    1. Disconnect the B9 back door ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the R23 rear wiper motor connector.
    3. Check the continuity between the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard:

    1. OK: Replace Rear Wiper Motor Assy 
    2. NG: Repair Or Replace Harness And Connector
