Combination Meter: Inspection

  1. PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the parking brake switch.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard: 

    SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

    Condition Specified Condition
    ON (Switch pin released) Below 1 Ω
    OFF (Switch pin pushed in) 10 kΩ or higher
  2. INCLINATION SENSOR ASSY 
    1. Remove the combination meter assy.
    2. Remove the rear side cover from the combination meter assy.
    3. Connect the battery (+) to terminal C10-16 of the combination meter assy, the battery (-) to terminal C10-13 of the combination meter assy.
    4. Measure the voltage between terminals OUT and GND of the inclination sensor assy when inclining the combination meter assy forward and backward.

    Standard: 

    When the sensor is level: Approx. 2.0 V 

    When the sensor slants (backward slant, approx. 5° minimum): Approx. 1.7 V 

    When the sensor slants (forward slant, approx. 5° minimum): Approx. 2.3 V 

  3. TELLTALE LAMP ASSY 
    1. Inspect the turn signal indicator light.
      1. Disconnect the O2 connector.
      2. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 1 (2) and negative (-) lead from the battery to the terminal 5.
      3. Check that the turn signal indicator light blinks.

      Standard: 

      Indicator light blinks.

    2. Inspect the resistance.
      1. Disconnect the O2 connector.
      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard: 

    TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    3 (RESET) - 5 (GND) RESET switch ON (Switch is pushed in) Below 1 Ω
    3 (RESET) - 5 (GND) RESET switch OFF (Switch is not pushed in) 10 kΩ or higher
    4 (ODO/TRIP) - 5 (GND) ODO/TRIP switch ON (Switch is pushed in) Below 1 Ω.
    4 (ODO/TRIP) - 5 (GND) ODO/TRIP switch OFF (Switch is not pushed in) 10 kΩ or higher
