Power Steering Gear: Installation

1. Install the PS gear assembly from the LH of the vehicle.
   NOTE: Do not damage the turn pressure tubes.
2. Install the 2 PS gear assembly set bolts and nuts.
   1. Torque: 161 N.m (1,850 kgf.cm, 134 ft.lbf) 

Using SST, connect the pressure feed and return tubes.

1. SST 09023-36400
2. Torque: 23 N.m (230 kgf.cm, 17 ft.lbf) 

HINT:

• Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.81 in.).
• This torque value is effective in case that SST is parallel to a torque wrench.

Connect the 2 clamp plates with the bolt and nut.

Torque: 

1. Bolt: 7.8 N.m (80 kgf.cm, 69 in.lbf) 
2. Nut: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

HINT:

Do it with the front of the vehicle jacked up.

1. align the matchmarks on the steering wheel and steering column main shaft.
2. Install the steering wheel and temporarily tighten the steering wheel set nut.
3. Connect the connector.

1. Torque: 50 N.m (510 kgf.cm, 37 ft.lbf)
