Adjust Night View Camera Aiming

  1. Preparation
    1. Prepare a thick white paper.
    2. Prepare a screen for adjustment as shown in Fig 1 .
  2. Place the vehicle in the following conditions.

    • The vehicle is parked on a level surface.
    • Tire inflation pressure is the specified value.
    • A driver is in the driver's seat and the vehicle is in a state ready for driving (with a tank full).
    • Turn the height control switch the normal position.
    • Check whether the vehicle height is correct.

      (see INSPECTION )

    • The vehicle has been bounced several times.
  3. Check the Night View Camera aiming.
    1. Stand the paper perpendicular to the ground at the position 1 m (3.28 ft) away from the front to bumper.
    2. Ensure that the position is 107 mm (4.213 in.) right from the center line of the vehicle and the paper face forms a 90-degree angle as shown in Fig 2 .

  4. Check the Night View Display display.
    1. Switch to Inspection Mode. (see PRE-CHECK )
    2. Check whether the image is displayed correctly on the Night View Display.

  5. Adjustment of Night View Camera.

    HINT:

    There are more or less 3 degree of toleration in each direction, rightward and leftward, upward and down ward, and rotating direction, respectively.

    1. Remove the nut and the cover from the Night View Camera.
    2. Using a socket driver or wrench (5.5 mm (0.217 in.)), loosen the bolt holding the adjustment in the direction to be adjusted. When adjusting all 3 directions, follow the order shown ADJUSTING METHOD TABLE  .
      • Right and Left ("A")
      • Up and Down ("B")
      • Rotating ("C")
    3. Using a socket driver or wrench (5.5 mm (0.217 in.)), adjust the Night View Camera so that the Night View Display is correctly displayed.
    4. Using a socket driver or wrench (5.5 mm (0.217 in.)), tighten the bolt holding the adjustment.
      ADJUSTING METHOD TABLE

      Adjusting Direction Adjusting Method Adjusting Angle
      Right and Left ("A") When turning the aiming bolt clockwise, Camera moves to RIGHT (Target of Display moves to LEFT) and when turning counterclockwise, it moves to LEFT (Target of Display moves to RIGHT). It moves approx. 2.14° per revolution.
      Up and Down ("B") When turning the aiming bolt clockwise, Camera moves DOWN (Target of Display moves to UP) and when turning counterclockwise, it moves UP (Target of Display moves to DOWN). It moves approx. 3° per revolution.
      Rotating direction ("C") When turning the aiming bolt clockwise, Camera moves COUNTERCLOCKWISE (Target of Display moves to CLOCKWISE) and when turning counterclockwise, it moves CLOCKWISE (Target of Display moves COUNTERCLOCKWISE). It moves approx. 2.74° per revolution.
