Radio Receiver ASSY: Replacement

- SHIP MODE SETTING
- Take out all of the CDs.NOTE: If they cannot be taken out, do not attempt to take out forcibly and send the unit for repair.
- While simultaneously pressing the "SEEK UP" and "DISC" switches, turn the ignition switch to ACC.
HINT:
- The CD indicator light blinks during the mode setting and it remains lit after the setting is completed.
- When the mode setting is completed, "SHIP" appears on the display.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF and disconnect the battery negative terminal.
NOTE: Connecting the battery negative terminal automatically finishes the ship mode. - Take out all of the CDs.
- REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH REAR (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSY UPPER (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER CONTROL ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSY LOWER CENTER
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Disconnect the connector, then remove the radio receiver assy and instrument cluster finish panel sub-assy lower center.
- SHIP MODE CONFIRMATION
- See the back side of the radio receiver assy and check that the window provided for mode checking is red.
NOTE: If not, perform the ship mode setting again. - REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSY
- Remove the 4 screws and 2 instrument panel finish panel retainers.
- Remove the 4 bolts at each side.
- Press the claw shown in Fig 5
to disengage it is meshing and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assy lower center.NOTE: Pressing the claw hard breaks the claw.
- Remove the 2 screws and radio bracket No. 1.
- Remove the 2 screws and radio bracket No. 2.
- INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSY LOWER CENTER
- Make sure that the battery negative terminal is disconnected.
NOTE:- For the radio receiver with CD changer, if the connector is installed with the battery connected, the system will start initializing operation.
- Vibration during initializing operation may cause trouble of the radio receiver assy.
