Rear Seat Belt: Replacement

HINT:

• The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning the installation, it is indicated.
• On the LH side, use the same procedures as on the RH side.

1. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSY (See page  OVERHAUL  ) 
2. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE COVER (See page  OVERHAUL  ) 
3. REMOVE WIND DEFLECTOR BOARD ASSY (See page  OVERHAUL  ) 
4. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE (See page  OVERHAUL  ) 
5. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSY (See page  OVERHAUL  ) 
6. REMOVE REAR SEAT BACK ASSY (See page  OVERHAUL  ) 
7. REMOVE REAR SEAT BACK BOARD 
   1. Remove the bolt.
   2. Remove the 2 clips and rear seatback board.

8. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER FRONT 
   1. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 caps.
   2. Remove the 2 nuts and the tonneau cover assembly.
   3. Remove the 12 clips and luggage compartment trim cover.

9. REMOVE REAR SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER 
   1. Remove the bolt and floor anchor.
   2. Remove the 2 bolts and rear seat belt assembly.
10. REMOVE REAR SEAT BELT ASSY INNER 
    1. Remove the bolt and the rear seat inner belt.
11. INSTALL REAR SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER 
    1. Check the degree of tilt when beginning to lock the ELR.
       1. Make sure that the belt cannot be pulled out by over 45 degrees of tilt.
       NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor.

    2. Install the rear seat belt assembly with the 2 bolts.

       Torque: 

       Upper side: 7.5 N.m (77 kg.cm, 66 in..lbf) 

       Lower side: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

    3. Install the floor anchor with the bolt.

       Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)

    4. Check the ELR lock.
       1. Check that the seat belt is locked when the seat belt is pulled out quickly with the seat belt installed in the vehicle.
12. INSTALL REAR SEAT BELT ASSY INNER 
    1. Install the rear seat inner belt with the bolt.

       Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

    NOTE: Do not make the anchor part run onto the protrusion part of the floor panel.
