Rear Seat Belt: Replacement
HINT:
- The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning the installation, it is indicated.
- On the LH side, use the same procedures as on the RH side.
- REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSY (See page OVERHAUL )
- REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE COVER (See page OVERHAUL )
- REMOVE WIND DEFLECTOR BOARD ASSY (See page OVERHAUL )
- REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE (See page OVERHAUL )
- REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSY (See page OVERHAUL )
- REMOVE REAR SEAT BACK ASSY (See page OVERHAUL )
- REMOVE REAR SEAT BACK BOARD
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the 2 clips and rear seatback board.
- REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER FRONT
- Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 caps.
- Remove the 2 nuts and the tonneau cover assembly.
- Remove the 12 clips and luggage compartment trim cover.
- REMOVE REAR SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER
- Remove the bolt and floor anchor.
- Remove the 2 bolts and rear seat belt assembly.
- REMOVE REAR SEAT BELT ASSY INNER
- Remove the bolt and the rear seat inner belt.
- INSTALL REAR SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER
- Check the degree of tilt when beginning to lock the ELR.
- Make sure that the belt cannot be pulled out by over 45 degrees of tilt.
NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor. - Install the rear seat belt assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque:
Upper side: 7.5 N.m (77 kg.cm, 66 in..lbf)
Lower side: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
- Install the floor anchor with the bolt.
Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
- Check the ELR lock.
- Check that the seat belt is locked when the seat belt is pulled out quickly with the seat belt installed in the vehicle.
- Check the degree of tilt when beginning to lock the ELR.
- INSTALL REAR SEAT BELT ASSY INNER
- Install the rear seat inner belt with the bolt.
Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Do not make the anchor part run onto the protrusion part of the floor panel. - Install the rear seat inner belt with the bolt.
