OBDII scan tool (excluding Hand-held Tester):
- CHECK VSV (FOR AICV) (See INSPECTION
)
NG: REPLACE INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ASSY NO.3
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT ECM
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage between the specified terminals of the E8 and E10 ECM connectors.
Voltage:
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Specified Condition AICV (E10-33) - E1 (E8-1) 9 to 14V NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT VACUUM TANK (See INSPECTION
)
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VSV FOR AICV - ECM, VSV FOR AICV - EFI RELAY)
- Check the wire harness between the VSV for AICV connector and the ECM connector.
- Disconnect the V4 VSV for AICV connector.
- Disconnect the E10 ECM connector.
- Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.
Standard (Check for open):
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Specified Condition VSV for AICV (V4-2) - AICV (E10-33) Below 1 Ω Standard (Check for short):
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Specified Condition VSV for AICV (V4-2) or AICV (E10-33) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher - Reconnect the VSV for AICV connector.
- Reconnect the ECM connector.
- Check the wire harness between the VSV for AICV connector and the ECM connector.
- Check the wire harness between the VSV for AICV and the EFI relay.
- Disconnect the V4 VSV for AICV connector.
- Remove the EFI relay from the engine room J/B.
- Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.
Standard (Check for open):
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Specified Condition VSV for AICV (V4-1) - EFI relay terminal 3 of J/B Below 1 Ω - Reconnect the VSV for AICV connector.
- Reinstall the EFI relay.
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: REPLACE ECM (See REPLACEMENT )
