Inspection Procedure

- INSPECT FUSE (P/W)
- Remove the fuse from the instrument panel J/B.
- Check the resistance.
Standard: Below 1 Ω
- NG: REPLACE FUSE
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TERMINAL BW)
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Check the voltage between the terminal of the wire harness side connector and the body ground.
Standard:
TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITIONTerminal No. Condition Specified Condition D9-7 -Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (P/W FUSE -MASTER SWITCH)
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY
- Remove the master switch.
- Check the resistance between the terminals of the master switch when the AUTO (driver side) switch is operated, as shown in
TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION .
Standard:
TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITIONTerminal No. AUTO Switch Specified Condition 1 - 9, 4 - 7 UP Below 1 Ω 1 - 4 - 9 OFF 1 - 4, 7 - 9 DOWN
- NG: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MASTER SWITCH - MOTOR) (MASTER SWITCH - BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the D9 master switch connector.
- Disconnect the P40 motor connector.
- Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.
Standard:
TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITIONTerminal No. Specified Condition D9-9 (DD) - P40-1 (DOWN) Below 1 Ω D9-4 (DU) - P40-2 (UP) - Check the resistance between the D9 master switch connector and body ground.
Standard:
TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITIONTerminal No. Specified Condition D9-9 (DD) -Body ground 10 KΩ or higher D9-4 (DU) -Body ground - Reference:
Check operation of the power window motor (driver side).
- Remove the motor (See OVERHAUL ).
- Apply battery voltage to connector terminals 1 and 2.
- Check that the motor smoothly rotates.
