HINT:

Inspect these items when the engine is cold.

1. REPLACE TIMING BELT: 

   For 2JZ-GE ENGINE  , See TIMING BELT

   For 3UZ-FE ENGINE  , See TIMING BELT

2. INSPECT DRIVE BELT: 

   For 2JZ-GE ENGINE  , See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

   For 3UZ-FE ENGINE  , See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

3. REPLACE SPARK PLUGS: 

   For 2JZ-GE ENGINE  , See IGNITION SYSTEM

   For 3UZ-FE ENGINE  See IGNITION SYSTEM

4. INSPECT AIR FILTER 
   1. Remove the air filter.
   2. Visually check that the air filter is not excessively damaged or oily.

      If necessary, replace the air filter.

   3. Reinstall the air filter.
5. REPLACE ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER: 

   For 2JZ-GE ENGINE  , See REPLACEMENT

   For 3UZ-FE ENGINE  , See REPLACEMENT

6. REPLACE ENGINE COOLANT: 

   For 2JZ-GE ENGINE  , See REPLACEMENT

   For 3UZ-FE ENGINE  , See REPLACEMENT

7. REPLACE GASKET IN FUEL TANK CAP: 

   For 2JZ-GE ENGINE  , See INSPECTION

   For 3JZ-GE ENGINE  , See INSPECTION

8. INSPECT FUEL LINES AND CONNECTIONS 

   Visually check the fuel lines for cracks, leakage, loose connections, deformation or tank band looseness.

9. INSPECT EXHAUST PIPES AND MOUNTINGS 

   Visually check the pipes, hangers and connections for severe corrosion, leaks or damage.

10. ADJUST VALVE CLEARANCE: 

    For 2JZ-GE ENGINE  , See VALVE CLEARANCE

    For 3UZ-FE ENGINE  , See INSPECTION
