ATEQ TPMS Reset Procedure
NOTE:
If the tire pressure sensor and/or tire pressure monitor ECU are replaced, the transmitter ID needs to be registered in the tire pressure monitor ECU prior to system initialization. It is not necessary to register the sensor IDs when only tire rotation is performed.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
- Set the tire pressure of all wheels to pressure specified on the tire and loading information label.
- Select "Reset TPM System" on the TPMS3.
- Hold the TPMS3 against the side wall of the tire, within 3 inches of the valve stem. Press TEST button on the TPMS3 until screen prompts "RELEASE SOME PRESSURE TO ACTIVATE SENSOR"
- Deflate tire pressure to 28 PSI to receive sensor ID.
- Repeat steps 4) and 5) for each wheel until all four sensor ID's are memorized.
- Connect the TPMS3 OBDII module to the Data Link Connector (DLC) located under the driver's side of the instrument panel.
- With the vehicle stopped and parking brake set, turn ignition switch to ON position. Do not start engine.
- When screen prompts to "CONNECT OBDII MODULE", press "Y" button on the TPMS3 to transmit sensor IDs.
- Select "MAIN" or "SECOND SET" on TPMS3.
- Press "Y" button on TPMS3 to transmit sensor IDs to control module.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect the TPMS3 from the DLC.
NOTE:
The initialization mode can be terminated by shorting terminals No. 4 and 13 of the DLC3 connector together (located under left side of instrument panel). See Fig 1.
