Seat Belt Warning System: Inspection

  1. Diver side: 

    INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY 

    1. Measure the resistance between the terminals of the buckle switch.

    Standard: 

    FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY - RESISTANCE TABLE

    Tester Condition Condition Specified Condition
    5 - 6 Fasten seat belt Below 1 Ω
    5 - 6 Release seat belt 1 MΩ or higher

    If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assy.

  2. Passenger side: 

    INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY 

    1. Measure the resistance between the terminals of the buckle switch.

    Standard: 

    FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY - RESISTANCE TABLE

    Tester Condition Condition Specified Condition
    2 - 5 Fasten seat belt 320 to 340 Ω
    2 - 5 Release seat belt 1,300 to 1,360 Ω  

    If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assy.

  3. Passenger side only: 

    INSPECT OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR 

    1. Measure the resistance between the terminals.

    Standard: 

    OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR - RESISTANCE TABLE

    Tester Condition Condition Specified Condition
    1 - 2 Apply more than 147 N (15 kg, 33 lb) to occupant detection sensor Below 1 Ω
    1 - 2 Free 1 MΩ or higher

    If the result is not as specified, replace the seat cushion pad.
