How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

• Use this procedure to troubleshoot the power window control system.
• The hand-held tester should be used in steps  3 and  5.
  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
     1. Go to next step. 
  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS CHECK AND SYMPTOM CHECK (See  CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS CHECK   ) 
     1. Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF LARGE-SCALE BODY MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN) 
     1. Use the hand-held tester to check for normal function of the multiplex communication system.
        1. (ECU unconnected, communication line malfunctioning) Without code outputs, proceed to A.
        2. (ECU unconnected, communication line malfunctioning) With code outputs, proceed to B.
     1. B: Go to MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ) 
     2. A: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  4. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE   ) 
     1. If the fault is not listed on the problem symptoms table, proceed to A.
     2. If the fault is listed on the problem symptoms table, proceed to B.
     1. B: Go to step   6 . 
     2. A: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  5. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING 
     1. PRE-CHECK 
        1. Inspection with the hand-held tester (DATA LIST).
        2. Inspection with the hand-held tester (ACTIVE TEST).
     2. Circuit inspection (See AUTO UP OPERATION DOES NOT FULLY CLOSE POWER WINDOW (JAM PROTECTION FUNCTION IS ACTIVATED)  )
     3. TERMINALS OF ECU  ).
     1. Go to next step. 
  6. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE 
     1. Go to next step. 
  7. RESET POWER WINDOW MOTOR 
     1. If any of the power window switch lamps are blinking, reset the power window for the switch with the blinking lamp (Refer to the pre-check, step  16) .
     1. END
