Section 545 (Charging): Generator: Installation

  1. INSTALL GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the bracket with the bolt.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

    2. Install the wire harness clamp stay.

      Torque: 8.4 N*m (86 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf)

    3. Connect the wire harness clamp.
    4. Install the generator assembly to the cylinder block with the bolt.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

    5. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 43 N*m (438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf)

    6. Connect the generator connector to the generator assembly.

    7. Install the generator wire with the nut.

      Torque: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf) 

    8. Install the terminal cap.
    9. Connect the 2 wire harness clamps.
    10. Connect the magnetic clutch connector to the compressor and magnetic clutch.
  2. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. INSTALL FAN SHROUD  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. CONNECT RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK HOSE  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR CLEANER INLET  (See INSTALLATION )
  11. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM COVER SIDE  (See INSTALLATION )
  12. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See INSTALLATION )
  13. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. INSTALL FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH 
  15. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
  16. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  17. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL RH 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

  18. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL  (See INSTALLATION )
  19. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization procedure (See INITIALIZATION ).

      HINT:

      Some vehicle systems require initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
