Inspection Procedure
- CHECK AUTO UP/DOWN FUNCTION (DRIVER SIDE)
- Check that the power window AUTO UP/DOWN function operates normally.
HINT:
- If the function works normally, go to step A.
- If the function with the driving position memory switch does not work normally, go to step B.
- If the function without the driving position memory switch does not work normally, go to step C.
- B: Go to step 2.
- C: Go to step 4 .
- A: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY
- Check that the power window AUTO UP/DOWN function operates normally.
- W/DRIVING POSITION MEMORY SWITCH: CHECK POWER SOURCE (FUSE)
- Check that the remote control mirror functions operate normally.
- NG: Go to step 4 .
- OK: Go to next step.
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING HAND-HELD TESTER
- Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the hand-held tester to generate a control command, and then check that the driver side power window operates.
Standard (Power window regulator master switch (Driver door ECU)):
POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH (DRIVER DOOR ECU)Item Test Detail P/W UP/DOWN Operates power window UP/DOWN
- NG: Go to step 6 .
- OK: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY
- Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the hand-held tester to generate a control command, and then check that the driver side power window operates.
- INSPECT FUSE (ECU-B, ECU-IG NO. 1, PWR)
- Remove the ECU-B fuse from the F/L block.
- Remove the ECU-IG NO. 1 fuse and PWR M-fuse from the instrument panel J/B.
- Check the resistance.
Standard: Below 1 Ω
- NG: REPLACE FUSE
- OK: Go to next step.
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING HAND-HELD TESTER
- Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the hand-held tester to generate a control command, and then check that the driver side power window operates.
Standard (Power window regulator master switch (Driver door ECU)):

- NG: Go to step 8 .
- OK: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY
- Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the hand-held tester to generate a control command, and then check that the driver side power window operates.
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FOR POWER SOURCE OF POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY)
- Disconnect the P22 master switch connector.
- Check the voltage between the wire harness side connector and the body ground.

- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- OK: Go to next step.
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FOR GROUND SOURCE OF POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY)
- Disconnect the P22 master switch connector.
- Check the resistance between the wire harness side connector and body ground.
Standard:
FOR GROUND SOURCE OF POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSYTester Connection Specified Condition P22-2 (GND) - Body ground Below 1 Ω
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- OK: Go to next step.
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH ASSY - POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the P22 master switch connector.
- Disconnect the P23 power window motor connector.
- Check the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- OK: Go to next step.
- CHECK POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY
- Remove the master switch (the connector is connected).
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Check the voltage between the terminals.

- NG: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY
- OK: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY LH (DRIVER SIDE)
Reference:
Check operation of the power window motor (driver side).
- Remove the motor (See OVERHAUL ).
- Apply battery voltage to terminals 1 and 2.
- Check that the motor rotates smoothly.
NOTE: Do not apply battery voltage to any terminal except 1 and 2.Standard:
