Height Control Sensor Sub-ASSY Front: Replacement
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
- REMOVE FRONT WHEEL (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSY FRONT LH
- Disconnect the connector.
- Remove the nut and disconnect the sensor link.
- Remove the 2 bolts and sensor.
- INSTALL HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSY FRONT LH
- Install the sensor with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 7.8 N.m (80 kgf.cm, 69 in.lbf)
- Install the nut.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
- Connect the connector.
- Install the sensor with the 2 bolts.
- INSTALL FRONT WHEEL (See REPLACEMENT )
- ADJUST HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSY FRONT LH
- Adjust the link.
- Loosen the lock nut of the sensor link.
- While the vehicle is unloaded, adjust the length of the sensor's arm by rotating the link so that the arm is set in the normal position.
- Check that the length of the threaded part, dimension (A) in Fig 3, is shorter than the standard value.
Standard:
A: 14 mm (0.55 in.)
- Tighten the look nut of the sensor link.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
- Adjust the link.
- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION (See INITIALIZATION
) NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- ADJUST HEADLAMP AIMING (See ADJUSTMENT )
