Height Control Sensor Sub-ASSY Front: Replacement

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  3. REMOVE HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSY FRONT LH 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the nut and disconnect the sensor link.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts and sensor.

  4. INSTALL HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSY FRONT LH 
    1. Install the sensor with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 7.8 N.m (80 kgf.cm, 69 in.lbf) 

    2. Install the nut.

      Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf) 

    3. Connect the connector.
  5. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  6. ADJUST HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSY FRONT LH 
    1. Adjust the link.
      1. Loosen the lock nut of the sensor link.
      2. While the vehicle is unloaded, adjust the length of the sensor's arm by rotating the link so that the arm is set in the normal position.

      3. Check that the length of the threaded part, dimension (A) in Fig 3, is shorter than the standard value.

        Standard: 

        A: 14 mm (0.55 in.)

      4. Tighten the look nut of the sensor link.

        Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf) 

  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (See  INITIALIZATION  ) 
    NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  9. ADJUST HEADLAMP AIMING (See  ADJUSTMENT   )
