Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSY NO.1 
    1. Disconnect the pattern select switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 7 PWR position Below 1 ohms
      1 - 3, 3 - 7 NORM position 10 k ohms or higher
      1 - 3 SNOW position Below 1 ohms

    1. NG: REPLACE PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSY NO.1 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSY NO. 1 - PASSENGER SIDE J/B ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the P4 J/B connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      P4-18 (PWR) - Body ground PWR position Below 1 ohms
      P4-18 (PWR) - Body ground NORM position 10 k ohms or higher
      P4-17 (SNOW) - Body ground SNOW position Below 1 ohms

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
