Inspection Procedure
- READ DATA LIST (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH)
- Check DATA LIST for proper functioning of the mirror retract switch.
Driver side J/B ECU:
OK: On tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to Fig 1 above.
- NG: Go to step 2
- OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
- Check DATA LIST for proper functioning of the mirror retract switch.
- INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH)
- Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard:
OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH)Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 4 - 5 ON (Retract) 10 k ohms or higher 4 - 5 OFF (Return) Below 1 ohms
- NG: REPLACE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY
- OK: Go to next step.
- Measure the resistance of the switch.
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH) - DRIVER SIDE J/B ECU AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the M4 switch connector.
- Disconnect the D5 ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard:
OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH) - DRIVER SIDE J/B ECU AND BODY GROUNDTester Connection Specified Condition M4-4 - D5-8 (RET) Below 1 ohms M4-5 - Body ground Below 1 ohms
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- OK: REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK (DRIVER SIDE J/B ECU)
