Seat Belt Tension Reducer System: Inspection
- INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH
- Measure the resistance of the buckle switch.
Standard:
FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LHTester Condition Condition Specified Condition 1 - 3 Seat belt is fastened Below 1 ohms 1 - 3 Seat belt is unfastened 1 M ohms or higher If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assy.
- Check the front seat inner belt illumination (see BUCKLE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT ).
- Measure the resistance of the buckle switch.
- INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH
- Measure the resistance of the buckle switch.
Standard:
FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RHTester Condition Condition Specified Condition 2 - 5 Seat belt is fastened 320 to 340 ohms 2 - 5 Seat belt is unfastened 1,300 to 1,360 ohms If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assy.
- Check the front seat inner belt illumination (see BUCKLE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT ).
- Measure the resistance of the buckle switch.
- INSPECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSY LH NOTE: Do not apply battery voltage to the pretensioner connector.
- Check tension reducer operation.
- Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 1 of the connector A and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2.
- Check that an operating noise is heard when the magnetized solenoid is attracting the plunger.
- Pull out the seat belt and let it rewind. Listen to the operating sound.
- Pull out the seat belt again, disconnect the battery's negative (-) lead and let it rewind. Listen to the operating sound again and check that the operating sound volume has increased.
If the result is not as specified, replace the outer belt assy.
