How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

• Use this procedure to troubleshoot the progressive power steering system.
• The hand-held tester should be used in steps  3,  4 and  7.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORK SHOP 
   1. Go to next step. 
2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS CHECK AND SYMPTOM CHECK (See  CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS CHECK   ) 
   1. Go to next step. 
3. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

   Standard: 11 to 14 V 

   If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge battery before proceeding.

   1. Go to next step. 
4. INSPECT COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF LARGE-SCALE MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN) 
   1. Use the hand-held tester to check if the Multiplex Communication System (MPX) is functioning normally.

      Result:

   1. B: Go to step   8 . 
   2. A: Go to next step.
