Park / Neutral Position Switch: Installation

  1. INSTALL PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the park/neutral position switch to the automatic transmission.
    2. Temporarily install the bolt.

    3. Install a new lock washer and the nut.

      Torque: 6.9 N*m (70 kgf*cm, 61 in.*lbf)

    4. Temporarily install the control shaft lever.

    5. Turn the control shaft lever counterclockwise until it stops, and turn it clockwise 2 notches to set it to the N position.
    6. Remove the transmission control shaft lever.

    7. Align the neutral basic line with the switch groove, and tighten the adjusting bolt.

      Torque: 13 N*m (130 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf)

    8. Using a screwdriver, bend the tabs of the lock washer.

    9. Install the transmission control shaft lever RH with the nut.

      Torque: 16 N*m (160 kgf*cm, 12 ft.*lbf)

    10. Connect the park/neutral position switch connector.
  2. INSTALL ENGINE REAR MOUNTING MEMBER (See  TORQUE CONVERTER AND DRIVE PLATE   ) 
  3. CONNECT FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  5. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION (See  INSPECTION   ) 
  6. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION (See  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION   ) 
  7. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION   ) 
  8. INSTALL PROPELLER W/CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    (INSTALLATION )

  9. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 

    (INSTALLATION )

  10. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER AIR GUIDE BRACKET (See  PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH   ) 
  11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
