Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Using the hand-held tester, check operation of the master switch using the DATA LIST.

    Standard: 

    DATA LIST in D-DOOR ECU 

    DATA LIST IN D-DOOR ECU

    Measurement Item Label Parameter
    Driver switch on master switch P/W AUTO SW ON/OFF
    1. NG: Go to step   3 . 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MASTER SWITCH <==> MOTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the D18 master switch connector.
    2. Remove the front door trim LH.
    3. Disconnect the P10 power window motor connector.
    4. Check the continuity between the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      MASTER SWITCH TO MOTOR CONTINUITY

      Terminal No. Specified Condition
      D18-11 <==> P10-1 Continuity
      D18-1 <==> P10-2 Continuity
      D18-1 <==> Body ground No continuity
      D18-11 <==> Body ground No continuity

    5. Reference:

      Check operation of the power window motor (driver side).

      1. Remove the motor (See OVERHAUL ).
      2. Apply battery voltage to the connector between terminals 1 and 2.
      3. Check that the motor rotates smoothly.

        NOTE: Do not apply battery voltage to the terminals except 1 and 2.

        Standard:

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY LH (DRIVER SIDE) 
  3. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY (FOR GROUND) 
    1. Remove the master switch (the connector is connected).
    2. Check the continuity between terminal 2 and the body ground.

      Standard: Continuity

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  4. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY (FOR POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Check the voltage between the terminals.

      Standard: 

      POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY (FOR POWER SOURCE) SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Terminal No. Condition Specified Condition
      9 <==> 2 Constant 10 - 14 V
      20 <==> 2 Ignition ON 10 - 14 V
      10 <==> 2 Constant 10 - 14 V

    1. NG: repair OR replace harness and connector (power source circuit) 
    2. OK: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY
