Power Mirror Control System: Inspection
- INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY (w/o RETRACT MIRROR)
- The L side of the left/right adjustment switch:
Inspect the mirror switch continuity.
Standard (Left side):
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.
- The R side of the left/right adjustment switch:
Inspect the mirror switch continuity.
Standard (Right side):
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.
- When the left/right adjustment switch is off:
Inspect the mirror switch continuity.
Standard (Adjustment switch off):
TERMINAL CONDITION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTerminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition 7 <=> 8 UP Continuity 4 <=> 7 DOWN Continuity 7 <=> 8 LEFT Continuity 4 <=> 7 RIGHT Continuity If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.
- Inspect operation of the mirror switch illumination.
Standard:
MEASUREMENT CONDITION TABLEMeasurement Condition Specified Condition Battery positive (+) --> ILL+ (5) Illumination light lights up Battery negative (-) --> ILL- (6) Illumination light lights up If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy or bulb.
- The L side of the left/right adjustment switch:
- INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH
- Disconnect the mirror connector.
- Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the mirror face, as shown in MEASUREMENT CONDITION TABLE and Fig 5.
Standard (LH):

- INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH (W/ SEAT MEMORY SWITCH)
- Disconnect the mirror connector.
- Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the mirror face, as shown in MEASUREMENT CONDITION TABLE and Fig 6.
Standard (LH):

- Inspect operation of the mirror position sensor.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the ohmmeter to terminal 9 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 15, and measure the resistance.
Standard: 700 - 1300 Ω
- Check that the resistance between terminals 9 and 10 changes when slowly turning the mirror face right and left.
- Check that the resistance between terminals 9 and 16 changes when slowly turning the mirror face right and left.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the ohmmeter to terminal 9 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 15, and measure the resistance.
- INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH
- Disconnect the mirror connector.
- Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the mirror face, as shown in MEASUREMENT CONDITION TABLE and Fig 7.
Standard (LH):

- INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH (W/ SEAT MEMORY SWITCH)
- Disconnect the mirror connector.
- Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the mirror face, as shown in MEASUREMENT CONDITION TABLE and Fig 8.
Standard (RH):

- Inspect operation of the mirror position sensor.

- INSPECT SEAT MEMORY SWITCH (W/ SEAT MEMORY SWITCH)
- INSPECT OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSY
- Disconnect the connector from the mirror control ECU assy.
- Check the voltage or continuity of each terminal of the wire harness side connector.
Standard:
TERMINAL CONDITION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTerminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition 1 <=> Body ground Constant 10 - 14 V 2 <=> Body ground Ignition switch OFF --> ACC 0V --> 10 - 14 V 14 <=> Body ground Constant Continuity 15 <=> Body ground Shift position P --> R 0V --> 10 - 14 V If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.
- Connect the connector to the mirror control ECU assy.
- Check the voltage or continuity of each terminal of the wire harness side connector.
