How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

Use these procedures to troubleshoot the audio and visual system.

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard voltage: 

    11 to 14 V 

    If the voltage is below 11V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

  3. BASIC INSPECTION 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ACC.
    2. Check whether or not the display appears on the radio receiver.

      Result 

      RADIO RECEIVER

      Result Proceed to
      Display appears A
      Display does not appear B

    B: Go to step   5 

    A: Go to Next step 

  4. CHECK AUDIO MODEL 
    1. Check the audio model.

      Result 

      AUDIO MODEL

      Result Proceed to
      Premium sound models A
      Standard models B

    B: Go to step   8 

    A: Go to Next step 

  5. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output.
    2. Delete for DTC.
    3. Recheck for DTCs. Based on the DTC output in the first step, try to force output of the audio system DTC by simulating the operation indicated by the DTC.

      HINT:

      • If the system cannot enter the diagnosis mode, inspect each AVC-LAN communication signal and repair or replace problem parts.
      • Even if the malfunction symptom is not confirmed, check for DTCs. This is because the system stores past DTCs.
      • Refer to the detailed description on the diagnostic screen, as necessary (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).
      • Check and clear past diagnostic trouble codes. Check the diagnostic trouble code and inspect the area the code indicates.

  7. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING 
    1. TERMINALS OF ECU 
    2. Inspect front No. 1 speaker (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
    3. Inspect front No. 2 speaker (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
    4. Inspect stereo component speaker (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
    5. Inspect front stereo component speaker (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
    6. Inspect woofer box speaker (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
    7. Inspect rear speaker (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
    8. Inspect rear No. 2 speaker (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
    9. Inspect steering pad switch (See INSPECTION  )
  8. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE
