Brake Control Brake Actuator: Installation

  1. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR BOLT CUSHION 
    1. Install the 2 brake actuator bolt cushions and 2 bolts to the brake actuator assembly.

  2. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the brake actuator bolt cushion with the actuator bracket assembly.
    2. Install the brake actuator to the actuator bracket assembly with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

  3. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET 
    1. Install the actuator assembly with bracket to the body with the 2 bolts and nut.

      Torque: 19 N*m (195 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Do not to damage the brake tubes.
    2. Using SST, connect the No. 3 front brake tube to the flexible hose.

      SST 09023-00101 

      Torque: 15 N*m (155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Install the grommet to the body.
      NOTE: Make sure that the grommet is installed correctly.
    4. Temporarily tighten each brake tube to the correct positions of the brake actuator assembly with bracket as shown in the illustration.

      HINT:

      • *1: To Front Wheel Cylinder RH
      • *2: To Front Wheel Cylinder LH
      • *3: To Rear Wheel Cylinder RH
      • *4: To Rear Wheel Cylinder LH
      • *5: From Front Master Cylinder
      • *6: From Rear Master Cylinder
    5. Using SST, fully tighten each brake tube.

      SST 09023-00101 

      Torque: 15 N*m (155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf) 

    6. Connect the actuator connector.

      NOTE: Make sure that the connector is locked securely.
  4. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUBASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  5. INSTALL NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  6. ADD RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID (See  BLEEDING  ) 
  7. BLEED BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUBASSEMBLY (See  BLEEDING  ) 
  8. BLEED BRAKE LINE (See  BLEEDING  ) 
  9. BLEED BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (See  BLEEDING  ) 
  10. INSPECT DTC 

    HINT:

    (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).

  11. INSPECT FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR (See  BLEEDING  ) 
  12. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE 
  13. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

  14. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUBASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  15. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  16. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  17. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  18. INSTALL FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  19. INSTALL FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.

  20. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  21. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  22. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  23. PERFORM YAW RATE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION

  24. INSPECT SENSOR SIGNAL

  25. INSPECT ACTUATOR WITH INTELLIGENT TESTER
