Park / Neutral Position Switch: Installation

  1. INSTALL PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the park/neutral position switch to the automatic transmission.

    2. Temporarily install the bolt.
    3. Install a new lock washer and the nut.

      Torque: 6.9 N*m (70 kgf*cm, 61 in.*lbf)

    4. Temporarily install the control shaft lever.

    5. Turn the control shaft lever counterclockwise until it stops, and turn it clockwise 2 notches to set it to the N position.
    6. Remove the transmission control shaft lever.

    7. Align the neutral alignment mark line with the switch groove, and tighten the adjusting bolt.

      Torque: 13 N*m (133 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf)

    8. Using a screwdriver, bend the tabs of the lock washer.

    9. Install the transmission control shaft lever RH with the nut.

      Torque: 16 N*m (163 kgf*cm, 12 ft.*lbf)

    10. Connect the park/neutral position switch connector.
  2. CONNECT FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL   ) 
  3. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION (See  ADJUSTMENT   ) 
  4. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION (See  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION   ) 
  5. ADJUST PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See  ADJUSTMENT   )
