Inspection Procedure

  1. READ DATA LIST USING HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and press the hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the items below in the DATA LIST and read the displays on the hand-held tester.
    DOOR ECU (DRIVER SIDE, PASSENGER SIDE, REAR LH, REAR RH)

    Item Test Details Normal Condition (Diagnostic Note)
    TRESPASS SENS Touch Sensor/ ON or OFF ON: Touch sensor is touched OFF: Touch sensor is not touched -

    OK: "ON" (sensor is touched) appears on the screen. 

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - DOOR ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the D25, F17, R12 and R15 door ECU connectors.
    2. Disconnect the D34, D35, D36 and D37 door oscillator connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

    Standard: 

    TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION (DRIVER SIDE)

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    D25-9 (SENS) - D34-3 (SENS) Below 1 Ω
    D25-21 (SEL) - D34-7 (SEL) Below 1 Ω
    D25-22 (OSCE) - D34-6 (GND) Below 1 Ω
    D25-9 (SENS) or D34-3 (SENS) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    D25-21 (SEL) or D34-7 (SEL) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION (PASSENGER SIDE)

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    F17-9 (SENS) - D35-3 (SENS) Below 1 Ω
    F17-21 (SEL) - D35-7 (SEL) Below 1 Ω
    F17-22 (OSCE) - D35-6 (GND) Below 1 Ω
    F17-9 (SENS) or D35-3 (SENS) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    F17-21 (SEL) or D35-7 (SEL) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION (REAR LH)

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    R12-3 (SENS) - D36-3 (SENS) Below 1 Ω
    R12-1 (SEL) - D36-7(SEL) Below 1 Ω
    R12-27 (OSCE) - D36-6 (GND) Below 1 Ω
    R12-3 (SENS) or D36-3 (SENS) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    R12-1 (SEL) or D36-7 (SEL) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION (REAR RH)

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    R15-3 (SENS) -D37-3 (SENS) Below 1 Ω
    R15-1 (SEL) - D37-7 (SEL) Below 1 Ω
    R15-27 (OSCE) - D37-6 (GND) Below 1 Ω
    R15-3 (SENS) or D37-3 (SENS) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    R15-1 (SEL) or D37-7 (SEL) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  3. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR 
    1. Measure the voltage between wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION (DRIVER SIDE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D34-7 (SEL) -D34-6 (GND) Smart key placed at least 5 m (16.4 ft) away from door --> placed near door 10 to 14V --> 0V
      D34-3 (SENS) -D34-6 (GND) Outside door handle touched --> not touched 10 to 14V --> 0V
      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION (PASSENGER SIDE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D35-7 (SEL) -D35-6 (GND) Smart key placed at least 5 m (16.4 ft) away from door --> placed near door 10 to 14V --> 0V
      D35-3 (SENS) -D35-6 (GND) Outside door handle touched --> not touched 10 to 14V --> 0V
      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION (REAR LH)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D36-7 (SEL) -D36-6 (GND) Smart key placed at least 5 m (16.4 ft) away from door --> placed near door 10 to 14V --> 0V
      D36-3 (SENS) -D36-6 (GND) Outside door handle touched --> not touched 10 to 14V 0V
      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION (REAR RH)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D37-7 (SEL) -D37-6 (GND) Smart key placed at least 5 m (16.4 ft) away from door --> placed near door 10 to 14V 0V

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
