Rear Extension Housing: Disassembly

  1. REMOVE OIL PUMP DRIVE SHAFT

  2. REMOVE OIL PUMP COVER 
    1. Using a T30 "torx" socket, remove the 3 screws.
    2. Install the 2 suitable bolts to the pump cover.

    3. Remove the pump cover from the rear extension housing.
  3. REMOVE OIL PUMP DRIVE ROTOR 
    1. Remove the drive rotor from the driven rotor.

  4. REMOVE OIL PUMP DRIVEN ROTOR 
    1. Remove the driven rotor from the rear extension housing.

  5. REMOVE SCREW PLUG, SPRING, BALL AND VALVE SEAT 
    1. Using a hexagon wrench, remove the screw plug.
    2. Using a magnetic finger, remove the spring, ball and valve seat from the rear extension housing.

  6. REMOVE OIL PUMP PLATE 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and oil pump plate.

  7. REMOVE SPEEDOMETER DRIVE GEAR 
    1. Using a snap ring expander, remove the snap ring.
    2. Remove the speedometer drive gear.
  8. REMOVE REAR OUTPUT SHAFT 
    1. Using a snap ring expander, remove the snap ring.
    2. Using SST and a hammer, tap out the rear output shaft.

      SST 09325-12010 

    3. Remove the 2 seal rings from the rear output shaft.
  9. REMOVE DUST DEFLECTOR 
    1. Using a screwdriver and hammer, tap out the rear extension housing dust deflector.
    2. Using a screwdriver and hammer, tap out the rear output shaft dust deflector.
  10. REMOVE OIL SEAL 
    1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the oil seal from the rear extension housing.

  11. REMOVE BALL BEARING 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the snap ring.
    2. Using SST and a press, press out the ball bearing from the rear extension housing.
