How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
HINT:
- Use these procedures to troubleshoot the cruise control system.
- The hand-held tester should be used in step 3, 5 and 7.

- INSPECT COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF LARGE-SCALE MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN)
- Use the hand-held tester to check if the Multiplex Communication System (MPX) is functioning normally.
Result:
DTC OUTPUTResult Proceed to MPX DTC is not output A MPX DTC is output B
- B: Go to MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See PRECAUTION )
- A: Go to next step.
- Use the hand-held tester to check if the Multiplex Communication System (MPX) is functioning normally.
- CHECK INDICATOR LAMP (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM
)
- Go to next step.
- CHECK FOR DTC (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR
)
- Check for DTC and note any codes that are output.
- Delete the DTC.
- Recheck for DTCs, and try to prompt the DTC by simulating the original activity that the DTC suggests.
