Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST (POWER MIRROR CONTROL FUNCTION) 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the hand-held tester to generate a control command, and then check the power mirror control function.

      Multiplex network door ECU front LH, RH (driver, passenger door ECU): 

      MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH, RH (DRIVER, PASSENGER DOOR ECU)

      Result:

      Outer rear view mirror LH does not operate normally A
      Outer rear view mirror RH does not operate normally A
      Outer rear view mirror LH operates normally B
      Outer rear view mirror RH operates normally C
    1. B: REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH (DRIVER DOOR ECU) 
    2. C: REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT RH (PASSENGER DOOR ECU) 
    3. A: Go to next step. 
  2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR LH OR RH (LEFT/RIGHT MOTOR, UP/ DOWN MOTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the R14 or R15 mirror connectors.
    2. Apply battery voltage and check the operation of the mirror.

      OK: 

      OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR LH OR RH (LEFT/RIGHT MOTOR, UP/ DOWN MOTOR)

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) -> Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) -> Terminal 10
      Turns upward (A)
      Battery positive (+) -> Terminal 10
      Battery negative (-) -> Terminal 1
      Turns downward (B)
      Battery positive (+) -> Terminal 9
      Battery negative (-) -> Terminal 10
      Turns left (C)
      Battery positive (+) -> Terminal 10
      Battery negative (-) -> Terminal 9
      Turns right (D)

      Result: 

      RESULT

      Driver side is as specified A
      Passenger side is as specified A
      Driver side is not as specified B
      Passenger side is not as specified C

    1. B: REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH 
    2. C: REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH 
    3. A: Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH OR RH - MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH, RH) 
    1. Disconnect the R14 or R15 mirror connectors.
    2. Disconnect the D19 or P11 ECU connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      Driver side 

      OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH OR RH - MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH, RH (DRIVER SIDE)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      R14-9 - D19-19 (DMHR) Below 1 ohms
      R14-10 - D19-20 (DM+R) Below 1 ohms
      R14-1 - D19-8 (DMVR) Below 1 ohms

      Passenger side 

      OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH OR RH - MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH, RH (PASSENGER SIDE)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      R15-9 - P11-19 (PMHR) Below 1 ohms
      R15-10 - P11-20 (PM+R) Below 1 ohms
      R15-1 - P11-8 (PMVR) Below 1 ohms

      Result:

    1. B: REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH (DRIVER DOOR ECU) 
    2. C: REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT RH (PASSENGER DOOR ECU) 
    3. A: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
