Quarter Window ASSY: Replacement

HINT:

• The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
• Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
• The procedures listed below are for the RH side.
• A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt table (see SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS ).

1. HALF OPEN ROOF PANEL 
   1. Refer to the MANUAL OPERATING procedures and half open the roof (see MANUAL OPEN OPERATION ).

2. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSY (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
3. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE COVER (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
4. REMOVE WIND DEFLECTOR BOARD ASSY (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
5. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
6. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSY (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
7. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSY (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
8. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSY RH 
   1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 5 clips and claw, and remove the scuff plate.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

9. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSY FRONT RH 
   1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the front seat belt hole cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

   2. Remove the 6 screws and clips.
   3. Detach the 4 clips, then remove the quarter trim panel.

10. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER END WEATHERSTRIP RH 
    1. Using a clip remover, detach the 4 clips.
    2. Remove the weatherstrip.

11. REMOVE QUARTER BELT MOLDING RH 
    1. Using a molding remover, remove the molding.

12. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP 
    1. Using a clip remover, detach the 3 clips.
    2. Remove the front part of the door weatherstrip.

13. REMOVE REAR SPEAKER ASSY (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
14. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RH 
    1. Remove the connector and grommet.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and 4 nuts.
    3. Remove the quarter window.

15. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW STOP 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 window stops.

16. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY RH 
    1. Remove the 2 screws, regulator base plate and regulator motor.

17. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RH 
    1. When reusing the regulator:

       Place matchmarks on the regulator to indicate the position of the nuts.

    2. Remove the 3 nuts and quarter window.

18. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RH 
    1. Install the quarter window.
       1. When using a new regulator:

          Install the 3 nuts. Tighten the nuts as much as possible by hand.

          HINT:

          The nuts will be tightened to a torque specification in step  22.

       2. When reusing the regulator:

          Align the matchmarks and tighten the 3 nuts.

          Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)

19. INSTALL POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY RH 
    1. Install the power window regulator and regulator base plate with the 2 screws.
20. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW STOP 
    1. Install the 2 quarter window stops with the 2 bolts. Tighten the bolts as much as possible by hand.
21. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RH 
    1. Install the quarter window to the vehicle body.
       1. Loosely install the regulator's 2 bolts and nut.
       2. Tighten the motor's 3 nuts.

          Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf) 

22. ADJUST QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RH (See  ADJUSTMENT   ) 
23. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSY (See  OVERHAUL  ) 

    Torque: 

    • 18 N.m (184 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) for bolt 
    • 18 N.m (184 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) for nut 
24. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSY 

    Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf) 

25. INSTALL WIND DEFLECTOR BOARD ASSY 

    Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)
