Radiator ASSY: Replacement

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET NO. 1 
  4. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 
  5. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSY 
  6. REMOVE V-BANK COVER 
  7. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE 
  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSY 
  9. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE NO. 1 
  10. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE NO. 2 
  11. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER INLET TUBE NO. 1 
  12. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER OUTLET TUBE NO. 1 
  13. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the cooling fan ECU connector.
    2. Remove the 2 nuts and 2 radiator support brackets.
    3. Remove the radiator and fan.
    4. Remove the 2 grommets.

  14. REMOVE FAN ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the radiator reservoir hose from the radiator.
    2. Remove the 6 bolts and fan from the radiator.
  15. INSTALL FAN ASSY 
    1. Install the fan assy to the radiator with the 6 bolts.

      Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf) 

    2. Connect the radiator reservoir hose to the radiator.
  16. INSTALL RADIATOR ASSY 
    1. Install the 2 grommets to the radiator.
    2. Attach the 2 grommets on the radiator to the body bracket.
    3. Install the radiator and fan with the 2 radiator support brackets and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 13.5 N.m (138 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf) 

    4. Connect the cooling fan ECU connector.
  17. CONNECT OIL COOLER OUTLET TUBE NO. 1 
  18. CONNECT OIL COOLER INLET TUBE NO. 1 
  19. CONNECT RADIATOR HOSE NO. 2 
  20. CONNECT RADIATOR HOSE NO. 1 
  21. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSY 
  22. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE 
  23. INSTALL RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSY 
  24. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 
  25. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS (See  COOLING SYSTEM   ) 
  26. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET NO. 1 
  27. INSTALL V-BANK COVER 
  28. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  29. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  30. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (See  INITIALIZATION  ) 
    NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
