Seat Belt Warning System: Inspection

  1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH (See  INSPECTION   ) 
  2. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH (See  INSPECTION   ) 
  3. INSPECT OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR 
    1. Measure the resistance of the sensor.

      Standard: 

      OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR

      Tester Condition Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Apply more than 147 N (15 kg, 33 lb) to occupant detection sensor 50 k ohms or lower
      1 - 2 Free Above 50 k ohms

      If the result is not as specified, replace the seat cushion pad.

  4. INSPECT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LAMP ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance of the warning lamp.

      Standard: 

      PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LAMP ASSY

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Tester probe (+) -> Terminal 3 (ACC) 1,300 ohms
      Tester probe (-) -> Terminal 5 (PBEW) 1,300 ohms
      Tester probe (+) -> Terminal 5 (PBEW) 10 k ohms or higher
      Tester probe (-) -> Terminal 3 (ACC) 10 k ohms or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the passenger seat belt warning lamp assy.
