Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When replacing the skid control ECU, perform initialization of linear solenoid valve and calibration (see INITIALIZATION  ).
  1. INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if the CAN communication system DTC is output (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Condition Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B

    B: REPAIR CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    A: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if the multiplex communication system DTC is output (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Condition Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B

    B: REPAIR MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    A: Go to next step 

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (BRAKE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch ON (IG).
    3. Select the "ECB* Warning Lamp" and "VSC Warning Lamp" in the Active Test and operate the brake control (electronically controlled brake system/VSC) warning light by the Techstream.

      ABS/VSC/TRAC:

    4. Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the brake control (electronically controlled brake system/VSC) warning lights are indicated on the combination meter when using the Techstream.

      OK: 

      The brake control (electronically controlled brake system/VSC) warning lights turn on or off in accordance with the Techstream. 

      HINT:

      If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part (see PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).

    OK: REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU  (See REMOVAL  )

    NG: Go to next step 

  4. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check the combination meter (see ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).

      HINT:

      If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the "PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE", refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part (see PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).

    NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: END
