Charging Systems: Charging: Battery: Installation

  1. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY (for Active Stabilizer System) 
    1. Install the tray with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 4.9 N*m (50 kgf*cm, 43 in.*lbf) 

  2. INSTALL ACTIVE STABILIZER BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR ASSEMBLY (for Active Stabilizer System) 
    1. Install the cable to the body panel with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.4 N*m (86 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf) 

    2. Install the sensor with the bolt.

      Torque: 13 N*m (133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the sensor connector.

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 BATTERY (for Active Stabilizer System) 
    1. Install the battery.
    2. Install the battery clamp with the bolt and nut.

      Torque: 4.9 N*m (50 kgf*cm, 43 in.*lbf) for bolt 

      2.9 N*m (30 kgf*cm, 26 in.*lbf) for nut 

    3. Connect the battery room ventilation hose.
    4. Install the battery insulator.
    5. Connect the cable to the positive (+) battery terminal.

      Torque: 5.6 N*m (57 kgf*cm, 50 in.*lbf) 

    6. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Torque: 5.6 N*m (57 kgf*cm, 50 in.*lbf)

  4. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY 
    1. Install the tray with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 4.9 N*m (50 kgf*cm, 43 in.*lbf) 

  5. INSTALL BATTERY 
    1. Install the battery.
    2. Install the battery clamp with the bolt and nut.

      Torque: 4.9 N*m (50 kgf*cm, 43 in.*lbf) for bolt 

      2.9 N*m (30 kgf*cm, 26 in.*lbf) for nut 

    3. Connect the wire harness of the fuse holder's clamp to the battery clamp.
    4. Connect the thermistor sensor connector.
    5. Connect the battery room ventilation hose.
    6. Connect the cable to the positive (+) battery terminal.

      Torque: 5.6 N*m (57 kgf*cm, 50 in.*lbf) 

    7. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Torque: 5.6 N*m (57 kgf*cm, 50 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE: When the warning light is illuminated or the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, turning the power switch may not start the system on the first try. If so, turn the power switch again.
  6. INSTALL TOOL BOX  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
