Front Axle Hub: Installation

HINT:

CAUTION: When the brake caliper is removed from the brake disc, do not start the hybrid system. If the hybrid system is started, the brake fluid pressure may increase.

  1. TURN POWER SWITCH OFF 
    1. Turn the power switch OFF, and check that the "READY" indicator turns off.
  2. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the front axle hub and front disc brake dust cover with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 69 N*m (700 kgf*cm, 51 ft.*lbf)

  3. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
  4. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB RUNOUT  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
  5. INSTALL FRONT DISC  (See REASSEMBLY )
  6. CONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Connect the brake caliper and caliper plates to the steering knuckle with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 78 N*m (795 kgf*cm, 58 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not twist the front brake hose when installing the front disc brake caliper.
      • Make sure that there are no foreign objects or damage on the threads of the bolts.
      • Do not overtighten the bolts because the steering knuckle is made of aluminum and may be damaged.

  7. CONNECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR CONNECTOR LH 
    NOTE: Do not twist the sensor wire.

  8. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

  9. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL  (See INSTALLATION )
