Brake Pedal Stroke Sensor: Installation

  1. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. New brake pedal stroke sensor assembly:
      1. Install the new brake pedal stroke sensor assembly with the 2 nuts.

        Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) 

        NOTE:
        • Engage the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly lever with the brake pedal groove.
        • Check that there is no foreign matter attached to the brake pedal stroke sensor's contacting surface.
      2. Strongly depress the brake pedal and brake the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly lever set pin.
      3. Remove the broken lever set pin.
      4. Connect the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly connector.
    2. Reuse of brake pedal stroke sensor assembly :
      1. Temporarily install the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly with the 2 nuts.
        NOTE:
        • Engage the brake pedal stroke sensor lever with the brake pedal groove.
        • Check that there is no foreign matter attached to the brake pedal stroke sensor's contacting surface.

      2. Connect the connector of the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly.
      3. Connect negative battery terminal.
      4. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
      5. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Reading the stroke sensor 1 value shown on the data monitor, turn the stroke sensor slowly to the right and left to adjust it to the standard voltage.

        Standard voltage: 

        0.8 to 1.2 V 

      6. Fully tighten the 2 nuts.

        Torque: 8.5 N*m (86 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) 

        NOTE: Do not depress the brake pedal after turning the engine switch on (IG).

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    (See PRECAUTION )

  3. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO.1 AIR BAG ASSEMBLY LOWER  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO.1 SAFETY PAD SUB ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO.1 UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  11. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH FRONT  (See INSTALLATION )
  12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
  13. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
