Floor Shift Assembly: Disassembly

  1. REMOVE SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR 
    1. Disconnect the indicator light wire harness connector and the wire harness from the upper console panel assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 screws and pull out the shift position indicator in the direction indicated by the arrow to remove it from the upper console panel assembly.

  2. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the indicator light wire sub-assembly from the position indicator.

    2. Remove the position indicator bulb from the indicator light wire sub-assembly.
    3. Remove the position indicator bulb cap from the position indicator bulb.

    4. Using a screwdriver, disengage the locking lug of terminals (4) and (8), and pull the terminals out from the rear.

  3. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the position indicator housing.
  4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER CAP 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the shift lever cap.

  5. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR LENS 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the position indicator lens from the lower position indicator housing.

  6. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR SLIDE COVER 
    1. Remove the position indicator slide cover from the lower position indicator housing.
    2. Remove the No. 2 position indicator slide cover from the position indicator slide cover.

  7. REMOVE SHIFT LOCK CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the shift lock control ECU connector from the floor shift assembly.

    2. Remove the shift lever nut and lock pin from the floor shift assembly.
    3. Remove the shift lever guide housing from the floor shift assembly.
      NOTE: First remove the shift lever nut and lock pin, then disengage the 2 claws.

    4. Remove the 2 screws and shift lock control ECU sub-assembly.

  8. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH 
    1. Remove the transmission control switch from the shift lever guide housing.
