Floor Shift Assembly: Installation

  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the floor shift assembly with the 4 bolts.
      NOTE: Do not allow the wire harness to get caught between the parts.

      Torque: 8.3 N*m (85 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf) 

    2. Connect the 6 clamps to the floor shift assembly.
    3. Connect the 2 connectors to the floor shift assembly.

  2. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the control shaft lever of the neutral start switch counterclockwise until it stops, and turn it clockwise 2 notches to set it to the N position.

    2. Move the shift lever to the N position and tighten the nut while lightly pushing the lever toward the R position.

      Torque: 13 N*m (130 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Do not push the shift lever too hard.
  3. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR NO. 1 HEAT INSULATOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )

  5. CONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. CONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR COVER CENTER LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR COVER CENTER RH 
    1. Install the front floor cover center RH with the 3 grommets.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

  9. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 FLOOR PANEL BRACE  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR BRACE CENTER  (See INSTALLATION )

  11. INSTALL NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT  (See INSTALLATION )
  12. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  13. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX PLATE  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  16. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  17. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  18. INSTALL FRONT CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH  (See INSTALLATION )
  19. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB 
    1. Install the shift lever knob and turn it in the direction indicated by the arrow.
  20. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION  (See ADJUSTMENT  )
  21. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
