Park/Neutral Position Switch: Removal

  1. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER 2. 
  2. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR PANEL BRACE  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER CENTER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER CENTER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  6. CONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)  (See REMOVAL )
  7. CONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR NO. 1 HEAT INSULATOR  (See REMOVAL )
  10. REMOVE AIR GUIDE PLATE OUTSIDE RH  (See REMOVAL )
  11. REMOVE REAR PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  12. DISCONNECT FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the nut and disconnect the floor shift gear shifting rod.

  13. SUPPORT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY 
    1. Support the automatic transmission assembly with a transmission jack.

  14. REMOVE ENGINE REAR MOUNTING MEMBER 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts, and disconnect the engine rear mounting member from the body.

  15. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Tilt down the automatic transmission assembly.

    2. Disconnect the switch connector.

    3. Remove the nut, spring washer and transmission control shaft lever with shifting rod.

    4. Using a screwdriver, pry off the lock washer.

    5. Remove the lock nut and lock washer.

    6. Remove the bolt and switch.
