Inspection Procedure

1. Jack up the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard resistance 

   RESISTANCE REFERENCE
   
   

   Shift Position	Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   P	2 - 6	Below 1 Ω
   Not on P	↑	10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPLACE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

OK: Go to Next Step 

1. Remove the transfer indicator switch No. 2.
2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard resistance 

   RESISTANCE REFERENCE
   
   

   Switch Position	Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   Free	1 - 2	10 kΩ or higher
   Pushed in	↑	Below 1 Ω

NG: REPLACE TRANSFER INDICATOR SWITCH NO. 2

OK: Go to Next Step 

1. See the combination meter troubleshooting section (see HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ).

NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
