Steering Pad Switch: Inspection

  1. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH (w/ Navigation System) 
    1. Disconnect the steering pad switch assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      10 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) No switch is pushed 95 to 105 kΩ
      10 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) Seek+ switch- pushed Below 2.5 Ω
      10 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) Seek- switch, pushed 313.5 to 346.5 Ω
      10 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) Volume+ switch: pushed 959.5 to 1060.5 Ω
      10 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) Volume- switch: pushed 3049 5 to 3370.5 Ω
      9 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) No switch is pushed 95 to 105 kΩ
      9 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) MODE switch: pushed Below 2.5 Ω
      9 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) Voice switch: pushed 3049.5 to 3370 5 Ω
      9 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) On Hook switch: pushed 313.5 to 346.5 Ω
      9 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) Off Hook switch, pushed 959.5 to 1060.5 Ω
      7 (DISP) - 8 (EAU) DISP switch: pushed Below 2.5 Ω
      7 (DISP) - 8 (EAU) No switch is pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      4 (DIST) - 6 (ECC)(1) Distance switch, pushed Below 2.5 Ω
      4 (DIST) - 6 (ECC)(1) No switch is pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      (1) w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System

      If the result is not as specified, replace the steering pad switch

  2. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH (w/o Navigation System) 
    1. Disconnect the steering pad switch assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      10 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) No switch is pushed 95 to 105 kΩ
      10 (AU1) - S (EAU) Seek+ switch: pushed Below 2.5 Ω
      10 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) Seek- switch: pushed 313.5 to 346.5 Ω
      10 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) Volume+ switch: pushed 959.5 to 1060.5 Ω
      10 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) Volume- switch: pushed 3049.5 to 3370.5 Ω
      9 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) No switch is pushed 95 to 105 kΩ
      9 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) MODE switch: pushed Below 2.5 Ω
      7 (DISP) - 8 (EAU) DISP switch: pushed Below 2.5 Ω
      7 (DISP) - 8 (EAU) No switch is pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      4 (DIST) - 6 (ECC)(1) Distance switch: pushed Below 2.5 Ω
      4 (DIST) - 6 (ECC)(1) No switch is pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      (1) w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System

      If the result is not as specified, replace the steering pad switch.
