Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK 
    1. Allow the engine to idle
    2. Check for exhaust gas leaks around the heated oxygen sensor

      OK: No leaks from the heated oxygen sensor. 

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE EXHAUST GAS LEAK POINT 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR

    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream ON
    4. Start the engine and warm it up
    5. Allow the engine to idle
    6. Enter the following menus. Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the Injection Volume for A/F Sensor.
    7. Check the O2S B1S2 values when the Control the Injection Volume for A/F Sensor is -12.5% (Lean fuel trim).
    8. Check the O2S B1S2 values when the Control the Injection Volume for A/F Sensor is 25% (Rich fuel trim)

      Standard Voltage 

      VOLTAGE REFERENCE CHART

      Air fuel ratio control (Control the Injection Volume for A/F Sensor) O2S B1S2
      -12.5% Less than 0.2 V
      25% More than 0.8 V

    NG: REPLACE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P0607) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG)
    3. Turn the Techstream ON
    4. Clear DTCs (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
    5. Turn the engine switch to off and turn the Techstream off
    6. Disconnect the Techstream.
    7. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait for 1 minute
    8. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal
    9. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3
    10. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    11. Turn the Techstream ON
    12. Start the engine

    13. Perform the drive pattern
      1. Warm up the engine.
      2. Accelerate the vehicle until 80 km/h (50 mph) and stop the vehicle
      3. Drive the vehicle by 60 to 80 km/h (35 to 50 mph) for 5 minutes or more
    14. Enter the following menus Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes
    15. Read the DTCs.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC P0607 is output B

    B: REPLACE ECM  (See REMOVAL )

    A: CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS  (See CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS )
