Distance Control Ecu: Installation

  1. INSTALL DISTANCE CONTROL ECU 
    1. Install the distance control ECU with the nut.

      Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Do not install the distance control ECU if it has been damaged or impacted in any way.
    2. Connect the distance control ECU connector

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. INITIALIZE DISTANCE CONTROL ECU 
    NOTE: When replacing the distance control ECU, perform the following procedure so that the ECU can learn the specification.
    1. Be sure to perform the following procedure after replacing the distance control ECU
      1. Turn the engine switch on (IG)
      2. Turn the cruise control main switch on
      3. With the brake pedal depressed, push the cruise control main switch to RES/ACC 3 times within 3 seconds Check that the buzzer sounds at this time.
    2. Perform any of the following to cancel beam axis adjustment mode
      • Turn the cruise control main switch off
      • Turn the engine switch off
      • Accelerate the vehicle to 10 km/h or more
