On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. CONNECT TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine and run it at idle.
    3. Enter the following menus. Chassis / ABS/VSC/ TRAC / Active Test.

      HINT.

      Refer to the Techstream operator's service information for further details.

  2. INSPECT ACTUATOR MOTOR OPERATION 
    1. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/ TRAC / Active Test / Motor Relay.
    2. Turn the motor relay on and check for the actuator motor operation noise
    3. Turn the motor relay off.
    4. Fully depress the brake pedal and hold it for approximately 15 seconds. Check that the pedal's initial depth is maintained for the entire 15 seconds.
    5. Turn the motor relay on and check that the pedal does not pulsate.
      NOTE: Do not keep a motor relay on continuously for more than 5 seconds. When operating it repeatedly, set an interval of more than 20 seconds between operations.
    6. Turn the motor relay off and release the brake pedal
  3. INSPECT FRONT RIGHT WHEEL OPERATION 
    NOTE: Do not turn on a solenoid in a manner different than that shown in the following steps.
    1. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/ TRAC / Active Test / ABS Solenoid (SFRH) and ABS Solenoid (SFRR).
    2. Depress the brake pedal and hold it
    3. Turn the SFRH and SFRR solenoids on
    4. Turn the SFRH and SFRR solenoids off simultaneously, and check that the pedal can be depressed
      NOTE: Do not keep the solenoids on continuously for more than 10 seconds. When operating them repeatedly, set an interval of more than 20 seconds between operations.
    5. Enter the following menus. Chassis / ABS/VSC/ TRAC / Active Test / Motor Relay.
    6. With the pedal still depressed, turn the motor relay on, and check that the pedal returns
      NOTE: Do not keep the motor relay on continuously for more than 5 seconds. When operating it repeatedly, set an interval of more than 20 seconds between operations.
    7. Turn the motor relay off and release the brake pedal.
  4. INSPECT OTHER WHEEL OPERATION 
    1. Using the same procedure, check the solenoids of the other wheels.

      HINT:

      • Left front wheel SFLH, SFLR
      • Right rear wheel- SRRH, SRRR
      • Left rear wheel" SRLH, SRLR
