Engine Oil Cooler: Installation

  1. INSTALL ENGINE OIL COOLER 
    1. Clean the oil cooler contact surface on the cooler mounting.
    2. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring.
    3. Install a new O-ring to the oil cooler.
    4. Install the oil cooler with the union bolt, bolt and new gasket.

      Torque: Union Bolt 

      59 N*m (602 kgf*cm, 43 ft.*lbf) 

      Bolt 

      10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

    5. Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses.

  2. ADD ENGINE OIL  (See OIL AND OIL FILTER )
  3. ADD ENGINE COOLANT  (See REPLACEMENT )
  4. CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL  (See LUBRICATION SYSTEM )
  5. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK 
  6. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  7. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See INSTALLATION )
