Oil Level Sensor: Removal

  1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  2. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  3. REMOVE FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION MEMBER PROTECTOR  (See REMOVAL )
  4. DRAIN ENGINE OIL  (See OIL AND OIL FILTER )
  5. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID  (See REMOVAL )
  6. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER TUBE  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE CRANK POSITION SENSOR BRACKET 
    1. Using a clip remover, disconnect the harness clamp.
    2. Remove the bolt and crank position sensor bracket.

  8. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the engine oil level sensor connector.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts.

    3. Rotate the engine oil level sensor 180° counterclockwise and remove it.

    4. Cut off the gasket as shown in the illustration.
    5. Remove the gasket from the oil level sensor.

      HINT:

      After cutting away the parts of the gasket shown in the illustration, remove only the outer part of the gasket.
