Inspection Procedure

PERFORM ASSIST MAP WRITING
1. Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait at least 30 seconds.
  HINT:
  
  The assist map is automatically written when approximately 30 seconds have elapsed after the engine switch is turned on (IG). DTC C1581 will be cleared after the assist map is written.
2. Check for DTCs
  OK: DTC C1581 is not output.
  
  NG: Go to step 2
  
  OK: END
CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
1. Using the Techstream, check for DTCs and confirm that there are no problems in the CAN communication system.
  OK: DTCs are not output.
  
  NG: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )
  
  OK: Go to next Step
CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
1. Using the Techstream, check for DTCs and confirm that there are no problems in the multiplex communication system (BEAN).
  OK: DTCs are not output.
  
  NG: GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )
  
  OK: Go to next Step
CHECK ECM
1. Check if the correct ECM is installed
  OK: The correct ECM is installed.
  
  NG: REPLACE ECM (See REMOVAL )
  
  OK: Go to next Step
CHECK GATEWAY ECU
1. Check if the correct gateway ECU is installed.
  OK: The correct gateway ECU is installed.
  
  NOTE: If replacing the power steering ECU assembly assembly, initialize the rotation angle sensor value and calibrate the torque sensor zero point (See CALIBRATION ).
  
  NG: REPLACE GATEWAY ECU
  
  OK: REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY (See POWER STEERING ECU )
