Park / Neutral Position Switch: Installation

  1. INSTALL PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the switch to the manual valve shaft.
    2. Temporarily install the bolt.

    3. Install a new lock washer with the nut

      Torque: 6.9 N*m (70 kgf*cm, 61 in.*lbf)

    4. Temporarily install the control shaft lever with shifting rod.

    5. Turn the control shaft lever counterclockwise until it stops, and then turn it clockwise 2 notches to set it to N.

    6. Remove the control shaft lever with shifting rod

    7. Align the groove with the neutral basic line.
    8. Hold the switch in this position and tighten the bolt.

      Torque: 13 N*m (130 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf)

    9. Using a screwdriver, bend the tabs of the lock washer.

      HINT.

      Bend at least 2 washer tabs

    10. Install the transmission control shaft lever with the spring washer and nut

      Torque: 16 N*m (160 kgf*cm, 12 ft.*lbf)

    11. Connect the switch connector

  2. INSTALL REAR ENGINE MOUNTING MEMBER 
    1. Install the rear engine mounting member with the 4 bolts

      Torque: 26 N*m (260 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf)

  3. CONNECT FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily tighten the floor shift gear shifting rod sub-assembly with the nut

  4. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION  (See ADJUSTMENT  )
  5. INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. FULLY TIGHTEN NO. 1 CENTER SUPPORT BEARING ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSPECT AND ADJUST NO. 2 AND NO. 3 JOINT ANGLE  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL OUTSIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  11. CONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  12. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  13. INSTALL FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 FLOOR PANEL BRACE  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER AIR GUIDE BRACKET  (See INSTALLATION )
  16. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the switch (See REMOVAL  )
  17. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
  18. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK 
  19. INSTALL NO. 2 FLOOR UNDER COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  20. INSTALL NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  21. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER
