Park / Neutral Position Switch: Removal

  1. REMOVE NO. 2 FLOOR UNDER COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  2. REMOVE NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR PANEL BRACE  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE  (See REMOVAL )
  6. DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE OUTSIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE RH  (See REMOVAL )
  10. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  11. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  12. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER AIR GUIDE BRACKET  (See REMOVAL )
  13. DISCONNECT FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the nut and disconnect the floor shift gear shifting rod.

  14. SUPPORT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY 
    1. Support the automatic transmission assembly with a transmission jack

  15. DISCONNECT REAR ENGINE MOUNTING MEMBER 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts, and disconnect the engine rear mounting member from the body.

  16. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Tilt down the automatic transmission assembly.

    2. Disconnect the switch connector.

    3. Remove the nut, spring washer and transmission control shaft lever with shifting rod.

    4. Using a screwdriver, pry off the lock washer

    5. Remove the lock nut and lock washer

    6. Remove the bolt and switch
