Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      Result: 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      CAN DTC is not output A
      CAN DTC is output B

    B: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    A: Go to Next Step 

  2. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH) 
    1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the mirror retract switch.

      D-SEAT SW 

      D-SEAT SW REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Mirror Close Switch Mirror retract switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Switch is ON (retracting)
      OFF: Switch is OFF
      -
      Mirror Open Switch Mirror retract switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Switch is ON (returning)
      OFF: Switch is OFF
      -

      OK: On screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart. 

    NG: REPLACE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY TECHSTREAM (MIRROR RETRACT FUNCTION) 
    1. Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check the mirror retract function.

      Driver Door

    B: REPLACE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )

    C: Go to step  5

    D: REPLACE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )

    A: Go to Next Step 

  4. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the mirror LH (see REMOVAL  ).

    2. For each mirror position: Disconnect the battery, set the mirror position by hand, connect the battery, and check the retractable mirror's movement.
      NOTE:
      • Disconnect and reconnect the battery once between each mirror position check.
      • The mirror position cannot be changed manually when the battery is connected. To change the mirror position manually, the battery must be disconnected first.

      OK

    OK: REPLACE FRONT DOOR ECU LH  (See COMPONENTS )

  5. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the mirror RH (see REMOVAL  ).

    2. For each mirror position: Disconnect the battery, set the mirror position by hand, connect the battery, and check the retractable mirror's movement.
      NOTE:
